Welcome to my own page and think thank about innovation and entrepreneurship. My name is Joachim Davidsson and via this page I am engaged and lobby innovation and entrepreneurship for small enterprises. I am researching and consulting in in issues how we build tomorrow's economy from the bottom, from the small businesses that I would like to see grow and become international. I focus mainly on issues about making it easier to build and manage small and medium size businesses, not least because I've done it myself for many years and know many of the problems entrepreneurs and business leaders face. A prerequisite for this is to challenge proposals and systems by using a think small strategy (borrowing the EU Commissions own proposal headline). How are individuals and small businesses to adapt when I analyze the proposals, programs and ideas. I would think small first, and thinking about how to make a business or proposal in larger scales.

Many people say we live in a knowledge economy today. That's right but we can also say that many of us live in a dispute economy. One of the areas I focus on me in my own research, commercialization and the so-called litigation economics, namely that many of us have to be able to enforce our rights through the Courts which is not only expensive but also takes a lot of our focus. I think sometimes we in Sweden are too focused on that we are so talented and ahead in research but perhaps not as successful at commercializing and create Swedish companies based on Swedish innovations. Albert Einstein is suppose to have said; "To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science". I believe we have to challenge today's system with some new questions from new people for new ways to stay ahead as a society and economy. I think we need to start thinking in new ways to create more technology companies that could become tomorrow's Alfa-Laval, Electrolux, Ericsson, SKF and Volvo.

In politics, it is too much focus on who said it, rather than what they actually said or proposed to create something better. This is perhaps not unique to Sweden, but as an entrepreneur, I can many times be a little surprised that we together can collaborate and work together to develop our business, financial and business a little better. I like to say that one has to be able to "think money" to run a business and I am often surprised how many people, both business peopl and politicians, who actually can not do this.

I am about to start a research project this year about commercialization and technology transfer and if you want to learn more about this project, or just establish contact with me to discussion bout innovation and entrepreneurship, please press here to join my distribution database.
